Kristall Table, Michele De Lucchi for Memphis Milano
Ettore Sottsass founded Memphis Milano in 1980, subverting principles of modernity and minimalism to develop a bold aesthetic inspired by the art deco and pop art movements. Created by Memphis Milano member Michele De Lucchi for the group's debut 1981 collection, the Kristall side table is engineered with a range of materials. Four blue metal legs support a printed block base, rendered in De Lucchi's "Terrific" laminate design. A yellow lacquered tabletop is incorporated as a secondary surface, yielding two additional areas for items and adding a unique dimension to the table's form. It measures 65cm H x 50cm W x 63cm D.
