Working with a range of influential architects and designers since the firm's inception in 1921, Italian company Alessi produces home goods and kitchenware with an emphasis on innovation, refinement and functionality. Created by Michael Graves in 1985, the 9093 kettle combines elements of European folk art with American pop art and contemporary industrial design. Crafted from stainless steel with rivet detailing at the base, the iconic design is characterized by a bird-shaped whistle at the spout. When the water comes to a boil, the bird "sings," indicating that the water is ready for use. This version of the kettle is rendered in black.
