The technology living within the Nike Flyknit Trainer was realized after four decades of analyzing the performances of runners. The Nike Flyknit Trainer 'Bright Citron' sneaker returned in October 2017 after a four-year hiatus to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the silhouette with an increased focus on sustainability. The upper is manufactured from recycled PET bottles and does away with excessive materials. A Flywire lacing system, contrast Swooshes and reinforced outsole pods are essential to the design.
