Air Jordan 1 Retro Leroy 'Leroy Smith'
A friend and former high school teammate of Michael Jordan, LeRoy Smith made the high school varsity team ahead of the future Hall of Famer when the two were sophomores—a famously motivating event in Jordan’s career. As a result, Jordan Brand equipped Smith with his own signature rendition of the Air Jordan 1. The shoe features a series of black, Sport Red and metallic gold panels throughout the leather upper, with Varsity Purple pinstripes on the quarter panel. The Nike Sportswear icon on the tongue is replaced with ‘LeRoy Smith,’ while the collar is tonally stamped with the phrase ‘motivize, pulverize, realize’ for a commemorative touch.
