Dr. Martens
After improving his own standard-issue army boots with air-cushioned soles, Klaus Märtens founded Dr. Martens in 1947. The brand’s lace-up 1460 Boot became synonymous with underground punk and rock subcultures in the UK, later helping define the aesthetics of the ’90s grunge movement. Today, Dr. Martens continues to uphold its cultural reputation by expanding its utilitarian sensibilities to other styles of footwear and accessories.
