What goes around comes around. So the saying goes, and nu metal is the latest subculture to get the Y2K revival. The mishmash mosh pit of genres and aesthetics originally came of age in the ’90s and ’00s when bands like Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach and Linkin Park ripped up the rulebook with their chaotic mix of heavy metal, hip-hop and alt rock. The subculture spawned some equally raucous fashion, blending elements of punk and rap through ultra-baggy pants and oversized graphic tees complete with face piercings and neon mohawks.
