Paris is a city of superlatives and they come into full bloom at the Grand Palais. "Magnificent," "dramatic," "intense," and "majestic" are just some of the descriptors that tend to go hand in hand with the historic complex on the Champs-Élysées. A modernized temple of glass and steel where architecture, art and technology dissolve into one synapse-stimulating gestalt, it's here where Karl Lagerfeld staged his most ambitious Chanel runway shows, transforming the space with facsimiles of icebergs, supermarkets and even the Eiffel Tower.
