The shoe released a year later in 13 colorways, arriving in classic makeups from 'Chicago' and 'Bred' to 'UNC' and 'Royal.' Since then, the AJ1 has been produced in every color combination imaginable and reinterpreted by as many brands and creatives, from Levi’s and fragment design to Virgil Abloh and Travis Scott. And while every year long-time AJ1 fans wait patiently for their favorite classic colorway to return as a retro, the timeless silhouette is outfitted in new shades for contemporary sensibilities. Enter the Air Jordan 1 High Retro OG 'Pollen.'
Officially part of Jordan Brand’s Fall 2021 lineup, 'Pollen' arrives in a tritone color scheme. A sharp divergence from some of the year’s most popular colorways, including 'University Blue' and 'Shadow 2.0,' 'Pollen' recalls 1985’s ' Iowa' Dunk, pairing a tumbled black leather base with contrasting overlays in yellow. The theme continues through to the branding elements, such as the Jordan Wings logo on the lateral collar flap and the woven Nike tag atop the nylon tongue. A white midsole and yellow outsole complete the build.

Releasing on August 7, 2021, the Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Pollen' sees the Beaverton-based company draw from its extensive archive of color pairings to present a refreshing spin on the silhouette that started it all, demonstrating the versatility of the same shoe that’s been embraced by basketball players, skaters and street style pioneers for more than 35 years.
