On Saturday evening in London, Skepta unveiled his sophomore collection for MAINS at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Westminster. Presented in partnership with GOAT, the collection’s origins can be traced back to when the artist’s daughter asked if he would do a show themed on the children’s musical Matilda. Rather than politely entertain her request in a familial setting, the musician and designer started thinking about school days and the stages of self-discovery they inspire.
Inspired by 'Matilda'—his daughter's favorite film—Skepta clashed prep school codes against ’90s and Y2K aesthetics for MAINS 2025.
The grime pioneer channeled British nostalgia through formalwear and statement accessories.
The collection further explored the academic theme through schoolboy-inspired silhouettes comprising knitwear, ties and crests.
