New Balance teamed up with fellow East Coast apparel brand J.Crew for an exclusive rendition of the 997 silhouette. Inspired by the Apollo 11 mission that put man on the moon in 1969, the sneaker features a cream suede construction on the upper to represent Earth’s rocky satellite, while contrasting navy tones emerge on the mesh toe box and ‘N’ branding. The shoe comes packaged in a vacuum bag to reference the packaging of the food that astronauts eat in space.
