A range of simple, monochromatic to extravagant sneakers were spotted on the streets of New York during fall Fashion Week.

While current high-fashion sneakers like the <a href="https://www.goat.com/collections/balenciaga">Balenciaga Triple S</a> and the <a href="https://www.goat.com/collections/louis-vuitton">Louis Vuitton Archlight</a> are all about exaggerated forms, designers proposed more sophisticated and streamlined options at the Spring/Summer 2019 edition of New York Fashion Week. Preppy silhouettes appeared at Tory Burch and Sies Marjan—at the latter, Sander Lak introduced a heeled sneaker with a pointed toe as part of a grown-up, yet playful collection. Sneakers often accompanied uniforms of sorts, whether it was styled with Escada’s colorful powersuits or with Vaquera’s twisted take on high school classics.&nbsp;
 
Off the runway, style stars like Selena Forrest and Josephine H.J. paired their kicks with overalls and a blazer respectively. Many also used simple, monochromatic styles to ground more extravagant looks. At Prabal Gurung and Anna Sui, sleek sneakers provided the foundation to decadent brocades and silks, while photographer Christina Paik and RHUDE founder Rhuigi Villaseñor used the <a href="https://www.goat.com/collections/af1">Nike Air Force 1 Low</a> and Rhude sneakers separately to balance out bold colors and prints.
