On Saturday, February 18, Mowalola ended her lengthy absence from London Fashion Week, presenting an apocalypse-themed FW23 collection in the English capital. Notting Hill’s LAYLOW hosted friends and family for the official afterparty, with the event quickly transforming into the unofficial launch party for the designer’s GREATEST ISSUE 07 cover.
Spread over two levels, crowds danced upstairs to a live set by Vivendii, while guests explored advanced copies of the new magazine and received exclusive GREATEST x Mowalola T-shirts downstairs. The collaborative design featured circular motifs on the chest, reminiscent of the “TRANS ATLANTIC” prints debuted hours earlier at Mowalola’s seasonal presentation.
Influential figures moved among style insiders, from actress Amandla Stenberg and model Leomie Anderson to the founder of Fashion East, Lulu Kennedy and creative director of Ferragamo, Maximilian Davis. Mowalola arrived late in the evening, elevating energy levels and pushing the party until the early hours of the morning.
