This 2008 Air Force 1 Premium 'Black History Month’ was created as a gift by Nike for inspirational community leaders in the era before Nike’s BHM collection received wide releases. Paying tribute to African mud cloth design, the shoe features a blend of earthy hues on the upper with a dark brown rich leather on the mudguard, quarter panel, and laser etched toe box. It also boasts a patterned canvas on the heel that is unique to each sneaker, wooden aglets, and wooden BHM branded lace locks. Underfoot, the sock liner comes laser etched with inspirational words from Dr. Carter G. Woodson, often credited as the father of African-American history.
