Street Style: PFW Spring 2020
The action isn’t all on the runways. Discover the best of Paris street style.
Think of Parisian fashion and the first association is perhaps one of the city’s haute couture DNA, the legacies of 20th century design titans like Cristobal Balenciaga and Christian Dior. In recent years, though, an influx of streetwear’s bold and countercultural spirit has emerged as a focal point of Paris Fashion Week thanks to a new generation of young talents. Streetwear favorites like Off-White’s Virgil Abloh and Matthew Williams of Alyx are revitalizing the runways, bringing their singular POV to heritage houses Vuitton and Dior (Abloh as LV men’s artistic director, Williams as a collaborator of Kim Jones at the latter). Photographer Melodie Jeng captured that same dynamism as it came to life on the streets between shows.
