In January 2023, <a href="https://www.goat.com/sneakers/brand/nike">Nike</a> and Tiffany &amp; Co. unveiled their first official collaboration. The project features an Air Force 1 sneaker called the <a href="https://www.goat.com/sneakers/tiffany-co-x-air-force-1-low-1837-dz1382-001">Tiffany &amp; Co. x Nike Air Force 1 ‘1837’</a> and a selection of silver sterling jewelry. Crafted in honor of the AF1’s 40th anniversary and releasing on March 7, 2023, the “1837” designation pays homage to Tiffany &amp; Co.’s founding year.
The Tiffany &amp; Co. x Nike AF1 ‘1837’ was first teased by basketball superstar LeBron James, who styled the shoe with a customized Tiffany &amp; Co. x Nike varsity jacket at the Lakers vs. Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on January 31.
A luxury-sportswear crossover between the two companies had been rumored for years. The pair unofficially came into each other’s orbit in 2005 after Nike enlisted Nicholas Tershay, better known as Nicky Diamonds, to create a pair of low-top Dunks for his skate label Diamond Supply Co. The shoes released to much fanfare and became known as the <a href="https://www.goat.com/sneakers/dunk-low-pro-sb-diamond-304292-402">“Tiffany Dunks” </a>despite having no official link to the iconic jewelry maker. The ‘1837’ marks Tiffany &amp; Co.’s first foray into footwear.&nbsp;

Editing the <a href="https://www.goat.com/sneakers/silhouette/air-force-1">AF1</a>’s austere design language with luxury signifiers, the upper swaps leather for smoky black suede. Both pebbled-leather Swoosh logos are dressed in a hue of robin-egg blue—known worldwide today as <a href="https://www.goat.com/collections/nike-tiffany">“Tiffany blue”</a>—while a sterling silver plate is incorporated at the heel. The shoes are packaged in the type of bright blue box that has become synonymous with Tiffany &amp; Co. jewelry.
Tiffany &amp; Co. and Nike have taken a similar elevated approach to accessories. The accessories collection spans a whistle, shoe horn, shoe brush and lace deubré. Both brand logos stamp the silver jewelry, along with the numerals “.925.” The numeric engraving represents the internationally accepted percentage grade for sterling silver, a standard that Tiffany pioneered (925 means 92.5% sterling silver).

Upper Material&nbsp;
Opting for a plush aesthetic, the <a href="https://www.goat.com/sneakers/upper-material/suede">suede upper</a> is the collaboration’s most prominent overhaul. <a href="https://www.goat.com/sneakers/upper-material/leather">Pebbled-leather</a> detailing adorns the throat of the shoe and mustache, with rope laces adding a further premium touch.
Detailing
The most notable detail on the ‘1837’ is the Tiffany blue Swoosh and the sterling silver hardware placed on the heel. The heel tab is marked with Tiffany &amp; Co.’s signature .925, confirming the luxury detail is authentic sterling silver.
