Nike Irreverence Justified (Issue Number #0403/2000)
Irreverence Justified' looks back at the sneakers that symbolize Nike's success in sports. The cover is constructed of "PU Sparkle Leather code number Gold 6002," the same textile that appeared on Michael Johnson's sneakers when he broke the 200-meter world record at the 1996 Olympic Games. Covering 28 years of history and examining 575 Nike silhouettes, the book intentionally ends with a few blank pages, a way of showing that the Swoosh isn't done creating as it heads into the future. The tome includes a note of gratitude to all the athletes whose achievements have added to the Nike brand mythos. The book is housed in a shoebox-inspired container. Limited to 2,000 copies and released exclusively to Nike friends and family in the year 2000, this edition is #0403.
