The Best Slides for Summer 2025
Featuring the adidas slides that started it all, luxury styles from Off-White and more.

There are sneakers and then there are summer sneakers. Certain kicks beg to be worn as soon as the weather starts warming up, from Air Force 1s and Stan Smiths to Vans. But some occasions call for something a bit more breezy.
Flip flops, pool slides, thongs, sandals—call them what you want—today the world’s leading brands are placing more and more emphasis on this category of summer footwear. Put simply, summer slides have never been better. Classic sport styles like the Nike Benassi and adidas adilette are supplemented by more experimental and high-fashion designs from the likes of Balenciaga, Gucci and Off-White.
Whether you’re looking for no-fuss slip-ons ideal for a bodega run or a statement option to wear on a night out, we’ve put together a selection of 2025’s best summer slides.
adidas adilette
This is the flip-flop blueprint, released in 1972. The adilette design dates back to the 1960s when the German national football team requested special footwear that could be worn in their changing rooms and showers. Over the years, the design lost its association with communal showers and gyms as slides like the adilette became a throw-in-your-bag essential for beach days, boat trips and pool parties.
The original is an all-time classic but a number of collaborations over the years has pushed the silhouette into new, bold directions. Belgian designer Raf Simons made his own version, for instance, ditching the sporty color blocking commonly associated with the adilette, instead favoring a trompe l'oeil print.
Nike Benassi
Nike’s answer to the adidas adilette. Just like the adilette, the Nike Benassi slide is a summer staple that keeps things very simple, perhaps with a bit more cushion in the sole and strap than its Three-Striped counterpart. Today the Benassi is offered in endless colors and variations, from basic builds with a simple Swoosh across the forefoot to versions with built-in fanny packs.
Gucci ‘72 Rubber Slides
Summer 2015 was the summer of Gucci flip-flops, after they were lyrically immortalized in Future’s Dirty Sprite 2 cut “Thought It Was a Drought.” The Atlanta emcee had the world buying up upscale pool slides, a simple design inspired by its sportswear counterparts like the adilette and Benassi. Future later revealed in an interview that the very same slides that inspired the lyrics ended up on the feet of his grandma. "She put my Gucci flip-flops on and ain’t bring them back."
Several years after the fact, Gucci flip flops remain a strong summer choice, perfect for any situation that calls for something a bit more premium than a sporty classic.
Yeezy Slides
The Yeezy slide catalog has expanded rapidly since the inaugural slipper silhouette debuted in 2018. One year later, the Yeezy Slides launched in affiliation with adidas in three colorways: ‘Desert Sand,’ ‘Resin’ and ‘Bone.’ The slip-on design is constructed from EVA foam, with a molded footbed that contours to the shape of the foot. Below, exaggerated flex grooves, often referred to as shark teeth, provide traction when walking. Despite Kanye West’s split with adidas, the Three Stripes continues to release Yeezy Slides, including ‘Slate Grey’ and ‘Dark Onyx’ colorways in March 2024.
Balenciaga Furry Slides
Balenciaga’s Furry slides are equipped with a plush fuzzy material and a Bernie Sanders-inspired logo across the forefoot. It’s part shoutout, part satire and fully designed to keep people guessing. While the version pictured above recreates the pool-friendly shape of the adilette and the Benassi, Balenciaga also makes a stiletto version, pushing the high-meets-low gag even further.
Off-White Sliders
Off-White’s footwear program is best known for its ongoing collaboration with sportswear giant Nike, but the luxury-streetwear label also has an inline collection of footwear that applies a similar formula to everyday silhouettes. Off-White joins in on the summer fun, too, offering up its own take on the classic pool slide. The brand’s utility-webbing motif appears across the forefoot, a trademark touch used across a variety of items, from bags and purses to belts and keychains.
Nike Aqua Swoosh
The Nike Aqua Swoosh is a silhouette for kids suitable for use on both land and water. Similar to previous amphibious releases such as the Aqua Sock, the Aqua Swoosh is composed of soft foams and fabrics for a shock-absorbing step. Drainage holes on the medial and lateral panels aid ventilation while allowing water to escape, supported by a heel strap design for easy on-and-off access.
Givenchy Slides
Coinciding with the rise of the Gucci flip flop, many high-fashion houses whipped up their own couture pool slides. At the same time, many fashion labels, including Givenchy, rebranded with simple sans-serif fonts, while equally simple logo-heavy products like T-shirts and hoodies became luxury-closet musts. Along those lines, this basic black slide featuring a raised wordmark across the forefoot strap is perfect for the Givenchy set.
Pharrell x adidas Boost Slides
Pharrell’s ongoing collaboration with adidas has spawned a number of sandals including these Boost-equipped slides available in a spectrum of tonal colors, from black to red and gold. The footbed of Pharrell’s Boost slides resembles a reflexology chart, showing key pressure points on the foot which are connected to other areas in the body like the diaphragm and kidneys. It’s difficult to top the original adilette, but when it comes to all-day comfort, Boost Slides are certainly a step up.
Suicoke Moto-VS
Sandals and open-toed footwear are deeply entrenched in Japanese style, going back to traditional models like the Zōri and the Geta. More recently, Japanese brand Suicoke has successfully garnered international attention for its contemporary sandal designs like the KISEE-V.
The label also offers a number of slip-on models including the Moto-VS, which features a padded Velcro closure on the forefoot and Suicoke’s signature Vibram sole unit. The result is a pair of slip-ons that offer far more cushion and durability than your average pool slide.
Nike Asuna Crater Slide
If Benassis are in your rotation already, or you’re searching for something a bit more unique, Nike has other options in its catalog for Summer 2023. The Swoosh’s Asuna Crater Slides are made from at least 20% recycled material by weight, with utilitarian detailing like a shark-tooth tread pattern and a rope-lacing closure with adjustable toggle, which allows you to customize your fit, something that most slides don’t offer. The name, meanwhile, comes from Nike’s cushy Crater foam sole unit, a feature that guarantees daily wearability.
Jordan Sophia Slide
The Jordan Sophia Slide was launched in 2022 as a women’s-specific silhouette, colliding the codes of luxury and sportswear. The minimalist design comprises a criss-cross strap and a platform build, propped up by a midsole reinforced with Air-sole cushioning. This time around, the iconic Jumpman logo is used sparingly, featured on a small strap tag and then again on the herringbone outsole. It’s a subtle look, well-matched for any kind of activity, basketball aside.

Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide
Billed as a “utilitarian exploration of form,” Salehe Bembury’s Crocs Pollex Clog proved to be one of the most discussed footwear designs of 2021. One year later, the designer followed it up with the Pollex Slide. Based on the original, the slip-on is characterized by Bembury’s signature fingerprint pattern across the strap and sole unit. Unlike the Clog, the slide iteration eschews perforations, instead adhering to a solid build.
Nike Calm Slides
Nike introduced the Calm Slides in 2023, building on minimalist design cues established on previous models like the Benassi. The versatile style is suitable for the poolside and everyday wear, removing any branding moments aside from a subtle mini Swoosh logo on the strap. The front of the slipper is curved for a futuristic effect, while the strap is wider at the back. A full-length non-marking rubber sole ensures grip on slippery surfaces. Calm Slides are rendered in a range of high-wattage and tranquil colorways.
Hoka Ora Recovery Slides
Hoka’s Ora Recovery series is designed for post-activity relief and comfort, characterized by a massive EVA midsole with an early Meta-Rocker that adheres to the same maximalist design principles as the French label’s running series. The high footbed ensures a cushioned step, while strategic groove placements underfoot mitigate slippage on wet surfaces. Minimal Hoka branding lands on the strap, featuring ventilation slits for an airy ride.

Burberry Slides
Yorkshire-born designer Daniel Lee has left a mark on Burberry since assuming creative duties at the house in 2023, instilling a youthful vitality while retaining heritage codes like checkered prints. Although the storied British house may be best known for its signature raincoats, it offers a growing range of luxurious slides as part of its accessories program. Crafted from premium materials, the Nova Check is often employed as a unifying visual element.
Nike Air Max Isla Sandals
The Air Max Isla brings Nike’s technical prowess to a silhouette reminiscent of traditional Japanese tabi and geta silhouettes. The women’s sandal combines squishy, quilted straps on the upper with a substantial platform sole equipped with an exposed Air unit. A serpent-like traction pattern is incorporated on the outsole, while mini Swoosh logos add additional visual pop.

Jordan Roam Slide
Is it a sneaker or a slide? Perhaps both. In 2024, Air Jordan introduced its version in the form of the Roam Slide. The silhouette is crafted from a one-piece foam construction, with strategic vents aiding breathability and an embossed elephant-print footbed securing the foot. The forefoot detailing is borrowed from the Jordan Trunner, while a segmented outsole with foam pods and rubber zones at the front and back arrive underfoot.

adidas adiFOM IIInfinity
While the adilette unquestionably remains the most iconic of adidas poolside footwear, that doesn’t stop the Three Stripes from engineering new contenders for the throne. Enter the futuristic adiFOM IIInfinity, a new spinoff of the Crazy IIInfinity—itself inspired by the Crazy 1 (formerly known as the Kobe 1), Kobe Bryant’s first adidas signature shoe. The source code is immediately recognizable in the adiFOM IIInfinity’s one-piece foam shell, finished with breathable vents.
