Julien Boudet Brings the Air Max ‘Thunder’ PE to the Streets of Paris
The multidisciplinary artist links up with close friends in the French capital, showcasing the reflective upper and blacked-out sole of the new silhouette.

My relationship with Air Max began in 1996, when I encountered the Air Max Triax in high school. The visible Air bubble fascinated me, symbolizing status and aspiration. Over time, what was once unattainable became an essential part of my personal and professional world.
In Paris, Air Max is more than just a sneaker, it’s an icon, woven into the cultural fabric of sports, music, art and design. Its universal appeal allows it to transcend boundaries, connecting people across generations and geographies. With this project, I sought to showcase the versatility of sneakers—particularly the Air Max—by placing them in unexpected settings.
The connection between sneakers and motorcycles plays a vital role in my vision. A motorcycle represents freedom, movement and style; a means of navigating the city with a sense of purpose and individuality. By juxtaposing motorcycles within nature and imagining a city without them, I aimed to highlight the significance of sneakers in shaping personal and cultural identity.
This exploration of contrasts, between movement and stillness, city and nature, heritage and innovation, forms the foundation of my creative vision.
Collaboration was key to bringing this vision to life: Hicham, with his deep appreciation for vintage fashion and bold approach to styling. Yaya, with her sharp yet sensitive fashion perspective.
